Check the brake vacuum booster

The vacuum booster obtains the vacuum power source from the engine intake pipe and stores it in the vacuum tank. If the vacuum booster is found to be useless in application, check the vacuum booster. When there is no fault, it is not necessary to remove the vacuum booster at will to prevent damage to the booster. When the vacuum booster is damaged, it shall be replaced as a whole.

During the inspection of the brake system with vacuum booster, if the pedal is found to be heavy, the air sealing test of vacuum booster shall be carried out. The method is as follows:

Method 1: start the engine and stop the engine after running for 1-2min. Step the brake pedal gradually with the force selected during general braking. If the stroke is relatively large for the first time, and then the stroke is gradually reduced, it indicates that the vacuum booster works well; If there is no change in each stroke, it reflects that the vacuum booster or vacuum pipeline leaks and should be repaired.

Method 2: when the engine is not running, step the brake pedal gradually with the force selected during general braking to ensure that the pedal stroke has not changed, then maintain the brake pedal at the depressed position and start the engine. If the pedal height drops slightly at this time, it indicates that the vacuum booster works well.

Method 3: depress the brake pedal when the engine is running, then shut down the engine and keep the pedal at the depressed position. After about 3os, if the pedal height does not change, the seal is good; If the pedal rises, it indicates that the vacuum booster is faulty.
